Princeville Youth Academy (PYA)

Overview

The Princeville Youth Academy (PYA) is a summer youth enrichment program designed to support the academic, social, and personal growth of students in Princeville and surrounding communities. Rooted in community values and focused on future readiness, PYA provides a safe, structured, and engaging environment where students can learn, grow, and thrive during the summer months. Through intentional programming, positive mentorship, and meaningful experiences, students are encouraged to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and strengthen their connection to the community while preparing for success beyond the classroom.

About Our PYA Director

My name is JaQuez Murphy, and I am honored to serve in my third year as Director of the Princeville Youth Academy. PYA is more than a summer program to me—it is a space where young people are seen, supported, and encouraged to grow into their best selves.

With several years of experience in education, youth development, and nonprofit leadership, I am deeply committed to creating environments where students feel valued, empowered, and inspired. I believe in meeting youth where they are, honoring their stories, and helping them build the confidence and skills needed for the future.

I am a firm believer in being the person I needed when I was younger; because of that, it is my life’s mission to ensure that every young person under my care leaves better than they arrived. At PYA, our work is rooted in community, purpose, and the belief that when youth are supported with intention, they can thrive anywhere they go.
