A Comprehensive Plan is a tool that establishes a high-level vision to guide Town policy and development decisions for several years into the future. Though Princeville has been the focus of a number of plans to address flooding and recovery efforts, this plan is different for two reasons: first, it addresses all aspects that impact quality of life (not just flooding and associated impacts) and second, it is required by North Carolina State law in order for the Town to retain the power to implement zoning. This Plan looks at topics that affect the everyday life of the residents of Princeville. It builds on previous efforts to address flooding and environmental concerns, and it also addresses topics such as housing, land use, recreation, Town services, transportation, and economic development.
