My name is Gina E Lewis. I have lived in Edgecombe County most of my life. I bring to the Financial Director's position, 7 , years of experience. I am the mother of 5 wonderful men and 7 grandchildren. I have an Associate Degree in Accounting and Business Administration. I am very happy to have been selected for this position.

The Construction of Princeville Elementary School is slated to begin soon. Students are anticipated to begin classes in the new facility January 2020.

The scheduling for the appraisals for the 22 houses on the HMGP buyout list has begun.

Request for proposals has been sent out for an environmental study to be completed on the town’s annexed 53 acre-property.

Regularly Scheduled Town Board Meeting third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the temporary town hall.

Planning Board Meeting second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the temporary town hall in the senior citizen room.

The town will hold a session to fill Ward 4 Commissioner seat during its regularly scheduled meeting Feb. 18. Letters of interest must be submit to the town prior to the day of the meeting.

Notice is hereby given that the Town of Princeville will hold a Public hearing 7 p.m. February 18, 2019 at the Town of Princeville temporary town hall, located at 3003 North Main Street for the purpose of discussing who will operate and maintain the cemetery located on Greenwood Boulevard. The Board of Commissioners named Dr. Glenda Lawrence-Knight Town Manager effective February 11, 2019. Dr. Knight is a lifelong resident of Edgecombe County, 15 years as a Princeville resident. Knight served as Mayor Pro Tem for one year, representing Ward 4, before resigning to serve as Interim Town Manager.

To this position, Knight brings over 15 years of organizational management, economic development, administration oversight, budget management and personnel leadership. Beyond her career obligations, Knight has over 20 years of community outreach advocacy in Edgecombe County where she has established solid trusting relationship with citizens, government and local entities.

“I would like to extend my gratitude to the Board for entrusting me to this position. I feel confident that I will surpass the expectations and that the town will significantly benefit. I solicit the support and prayers of the citizens,” Knight said

Knight is married to Ricky Knight and to this union is a beautiful blended family.
