Notice is hereby given that the Town of Princeville will hold a Public hearing 7 p.m. February 18, 2019 at the Town of Princeville temporary town hall, located at 3003 North Main Street for the purpose of discussing who will operate and maintain the cemetery located on Greenwood Boulevard. Citizens who would like to speak on this matter must sign the public hearing sign-up sheet prior to the meeting. N.C. General Statue 160A-344

The Board of Commissioners named Dr. Glenda Lawrence-Knight Town Manager effective February 11, 2019. Dr. Knight is a lifelong resident of Edgecombe County, 15 years as a Princeville resident. Knight served as Mayor Pro Tem for one year, representing Ward 4, before resigning to serve as Interim Town Manager.

To this position, Knight brings over 15 years of organizational management, economic development, administration oversight, budget management and personnel leadership. Beyond her career obligations, Knight has over 20 years of community outreach advocacy in Edgecombe County where she has established solid trusting relationship with citizens, government and local entities.

“I would like to extend my gratitude to the Board for entrusting me to this position. I feel confident that I will surpass the expectations and that the town will significantly benefit. I solicit the support and prayers of the citizens,” Knight said

Knight is married to Ricky Knight and to this union is a beautiful blended family.
