Town Clerk/Finance Officer
Population 2,100. Small, friendly town just east of Rocky Mount is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as the town clerk/finance officer. Duties Include: attending Board meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, maintaining accurate records, filing, basic bookkeeping, payroll duties, bank deposits, preparing reports, assisting with annual budget. Other duties and projects may be required as requested by the Town Manager. This employee is expected to be flexible, highly organized and must be willing to ‘wear many hats’. The position is visible and has a high level of public contact. The Town’s law enforcement services and water/sewer services are both contracted with Edgecombe County.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of municipal and/or county experience and will possess at least an associate’s degree (bachelors preferred) from an accredited institution in a related field. The candidate is expected to have advanced experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Population 2,100. The Town of Princeville is seeking a qualified person for the public works department. Duties include: building repairs, cleaning, limb removal, street patching and other Hurricane Matthew Recovery related duties as requested. Candidate must be flexible, be physically able to climb, lift, operate hand tolls and work in any weather conditions. The position is temporary, part-time and is related to Hurricane Matthew Recovery operations but could develop into a full-time position. This position is highly visible and requires that the person be friendly and accommodating. The ideal candidate will have experience in buildings and grounds,s maintenance, plumbing, construction and or landscaping.
